# Troubles with Instagram/Facebook and "#" hash parameter [updated]

Hi to all

we have just found out that if you had set your tracking links to have the hash "#" parameter in them and if your affiliates are using those links in Instagram or Facebook, the referred visits that they are sending from there **will not be tracked**. The cause of this is because Instagram and Facebook are removing the tracking parameter from the link.  
If you have affiliates using Instagram and/or Facebook, then use the "Location parameter" for your affiliated link.
